In 2019, Rafferty Build & Fitout played a significant role in the construction of Space Studio West London. Located in Feltham, Middlesex, Space Studio is a specialised STEM school catering to students aged 14 to 18, with a focus on space, aerospace, science, engineering, and mathematics. The institution offers a unique learning environment with small class sizes, typically no more than 25 pupils, to support individualised attention and academic development.

The school’s facilities were designed to replicate a collection of research buildings, incorporating a mixture of laboratories, engineering workshops, food technology suites, and a fully equipped gym.

The design incorporates cross-laminated timber (CLT) modules, enabling a shorter construction programme while maintaining efficiency within a modest budget.

The curriculum at Space Studio West London emphasises project-based learning and maintains strong partnerships with employers across the aerospace, science, and technology sectors. This approach ensures that students gain valuable practical experience and develop career-ready skills aligned with industry needs.
