Maison Francois
Refurrb Ltd had a significant role in the construction of Maison François. Located at 34 Duke Street, St. James’s, London, opened its doors in September 2020. The restaurant occupies the former site of Green’s Restaurant and Oyster Bar, which had been vacant since 2016. The transformation of the space was led by design studio GSL, drawing inspiration from architect Ricardo Bofill’s La Fábrica. The interior features grand terracotta wall arches and a rough cement coffered ceiling, creating a modern yet classic brasserie atmosphere.
The brasserie is the brainchild of restaurateur François O’Neill, who previously managed the Brompton Bar & Grill. The kitchen is helmed by head chef Matthew Ryle, a finalist in the 2018 series of MasterChef: The Professionals. The menu offers classic French dishes such as pâté en croûte, oeuf en gelée, and ravioles du Dauphiné. A notable feature is the dessert trolley, presenting a selection of traditional French pastries and tarts.
