This comprehensive £800,000 project commenced in early 2020 and reached successful completion by late 2020, adhering to both quality and timeline expectations.

Located in Kemsley, the facility is a state-of-the-art combined heat and power (CHP) plant capable of processing up to 657,000 tonnes of residual waste annually. Through this advanced process, the plant generates sufficient energy to supply power to over 160,000 homes and businesses, making a significant contribution to sustainable energy solutions.

In addition to its electricity output, the Kemsley facility provides steam to DS Smith, a leading provider of sustainable packaging solutions, supporting their renewable energy needs. This dual-purpose operation underscores the facility’s role in advancing circular economy principles while reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
